Investigation Begins Over Alleged Remarks on Jantar Mantar Protest
In one clip, T G Mohandas can allegedly be heard saying he would have imposed a curfew around Jantar Mantar before asking protesters to disperse through repeated public announcements. He allegedly told them that if they did not comply, the crowd would be shot at and casualties and injuries would restore order within hours.
Another video purportedly shows T G Mohandas making comments suggesting that police should leave the site of the protest, after which rapes and murders would take place. He is also reportedly heard making offensive remarks about the protesters, comments that have attracted widespread condemnation from political organisations and complainants.
The Kerala government has not made any public comment on the authenticity of the videos, other than ordering an investigation. Officials are expected to peruse the available evidence, probe the complaints received and decide if the remarks violate any provision of Indian law.

Political Complaints Trigger Official Kerala Police Action
Among the complainants was All India Youth Federation (AIYF) leader T T Jismon, who accused T G Mohandas of making obscene, inhuman and anti-democratic comments against students taking part in the Delhi protest. The statements were more than expressions of emotion and reflected hostility to peaceful democratic demonstrations, his complaint said.
T T Jismon said the alleged comments were against the constitutional rights and democratic values and made an offensive representation of peaceful protesters. He stated that calling the student protesters rapists is an insult to the thousands of young people who took part in the agitation demanding accountability on the NEET question paper leak issue.
Cyber Cell IG P Prakash will probe the complaints along with the alleged video recordings. Officials have not said when the inquiry might be completed or indicated whether criminal proceedings could be instituted following the examination.
Congress Condemns Statement as Investigation Continues
The Congress also condemned the alleged remarks and called for immediate action against T G Mohandas. The party said in a statement on X that the comments were evidence of what it called the RSS’s “disgusting, violent and misogynistic mindset” and urged authorities to respond quickly.
The Congress also said such statements were inciting hatred and violence and had no place in a democratic discourse. The party stated that such people should be brought to book as per the established procedures and legal consequences.
The controversy comes amidst countrywide protests demanding accountability for the leak of the NEET question paper and the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The inquiry by the Kerala Police is still on, and the investigation will decide whether the alleged comments merit criminal action.
